Hills Science Diet Ideal Balance Dog Food

I recently received a trial 4 lb bag of Hills Science Diet Ideal Balance Dog Food from BzzAgent and PetMD (petmd.com/mybowl) .  My schnauzer really likes it--even though I purchased another brand with salmon and sweet potatoes for him to try around the same time, he prefers this.

The good thing about Hills Science Diet Dog Food, it that the main ingredient is chicken.  It also contains fruits and veggies.  The cool thing about getting this trial bag, is that I spoke with my veterinarian several weeks earlier for my pet's vaccinations and they suggested this brand, because it didn't have so many fillers and would help my dog not be so itchy.  I can't say for myself that this is going to cure his itchiness, but I have faith that he will feel better without so much wheat and corn in his diet.

I also spoke with the PetSmart lady and she said that the main ingredients for dogs should be a protein and she also suggested we try this.  As long as my dog likes it and I know it's good for him, I will keep buying him Hills Science Dog Food, the Ideal Balance variety.

Cookies! Everyone loves Chocolate Chip Cookies! But have you tried these? .....

I received a sample box of The Truly Awesome Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies that you can purchase at Fred Meyer, from BzzAgent.  My children loved them!  What I liked is that they are made with no added preservatives or artificial flavors like other brands have.  And they are twice the size of normal cookies.  Crunchy yumminess!

My favorite (and my son's) way of eating them is by warming a bit in the microwave.  It makes them taste as if they'd just come out of the oven.  I am sure you would find them to be delicious as they are made from real butter and tons of chocolate chips.  Try them, I'm sure you will be glad you did!  You can find them at Fred Meyer stores for about $2.79 a box.  Let me know what you think.

Places to find out about advanced movie screenings in the Portland area

I know I promised to furnish this information months ago.  And here it is:

Many people wonder, "How the heck do people find out about all these movie screenings before they come out?" A lot of it is word of mouth. Many of us meet other people while in line for movie screenings and find out about new resources all the time.  You may have to brush up on your mingling skills.  But here are a few other suggestions that I think will be helpful ...

Many people refer to Willamette Week (available on Wednesdays) and The Mercury (available on Thursdays) weekly publications here in Portland, Oregon. Look in the movie guide sections for rsvp codes for www.GoFoBo.com. The limited number of GoFoBo codes go fast, so make sure you get a copy of the paper right away and go to the site and enter the rsvp code online to get your printed passes. Another way to get tickets from these weeklies is through Janet Wainwright Public Relation's offers. There are different methods of winning - usually a mail away for screening tickets--make sure you do it right away since their office is in Seattle and your request needs to be in by the following Tuesday. And JWPR also has some offers where you e-mail them with some requested story or with an answer to a question.  They will respond if you win.

If you want to go straight to the source for Janet Wainwright's Movie Club, you can "Like" the club on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/JWPRMovies.  Or you can e-mail them directly (see this page for the address: http://www.janetwainwright.com/filmclub.htm)

Here are a few other links to sites where you have to become a member to get notifications of upcoming screenings:

Txt Movie Club

Film Metro

"Like" Advance Screenings on Facebook

Become a member of NW 32 movie club

"Like" BzzboPDX

Or you can join this Meetup group http://www.meetup.com/Movies-in-Portland-Meetup-Group/ - I think they charge a $5 yearly fee to be a member.

A few of these sources are new to me.  I know there is a guy that goes by the name Don B on Yelp who also gets tickets to screenings (thedon.yelp.com) for the Portland area.

And last but not least, remember there are lots of radio stations and television stations that offer tickets.  There a many different ways they offer them to you.  You can win them as prizes when you call in or sign up to win online.  When they go out on a street team visit at a particular place of business or community fair, they often offer tickets to upcoming shows.

Anyhow, this about covers what I know about getting free advanced screening movie tickets in the Greater Portland Area.  I would gladly like to hear from you if you have other sources that I am unaware of.
